SSA Industry Confidence Survey: Regional Outlook

More than 8 out of 10 owners and managers expect the industry to remain stable or improve in the upcoming year in four out of five regions. The single exception is the West Coast, where about three-fourths are bullish on the industry.

SSA Industry Confidence Survey: Continued Optimism - with Some Caveats

On June 30th, 2024 the SSA released early results from the SSA Industry Confidence Survey, conducted in May with self storage owners and managers. The summary concluded that operators had an optimistic outlook for the industry today and for the remainder of the year.

Analysis of Second Quarter 2019 REIS Findings in the Self Storage Sector

Reis expects supply conditions to ease towards the end of the year and into 2020. In the meantime, we are projecting rents for both climate controlled and non-climate controlled units to trend negative in 2019 and recover in 2020 and beyond.

Now at 326 million, the U.S. resident population grew by 2.3 million residents (or 0.7%) from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017. However, that increase did not start a new trend. In fact, the U.S. population has grown by approximately 2.3 million residents or 0.7% in each measured time period since 2010.
