National SSA To Manage Self Storage Association of Michigan
Alexandria, Virginia — The national Self Storage Association (SSA) today announced that it will manage all administrative functions for the Self Storage Association of Michigan (SSAM) effective January 1, 2024. With the addition Michigan, the SSA’s state management division now oversees 22 associations.
“The national and Michigan self storage associations have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for nearly two decades, particularly looking out for the industry’s best interests in the public arena,” said SSA President & CEO Tim Dietz. “We are excited to continue this important partnership and look forward to serving the members of one of the industry’s largest state associations.”
Among the many functions the SSA will oversee for Michigan is: accounting; membership; annual meeting planning and coordination; educational seminars; quarterly newsletters; board meeting agendas; and the monitoring of state legislative activity.
“This transition represents a significant milestone in the history of our Association, and we are confident that it will usher in a new era of growth, innovation, and success for SSAM and its members,” said Peter Spickenagel, chair of the SSAM board of directors.
The 14th Annual SSAM Conference will be held on November 16-17 at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Detroit Downtown-Fort Shelby.
“SSA’s team has been working closely with the current management company to ensure a smooth transition,” said Julie LaRose, SSA’s senior vice president of membership and states. “Tim Dietz and I look forward to attending the SSAM conference in Detroit this week to meet with the board and members.”
