The Self Storage Association (SSA) today announced that Joseph Doherty has been promoted to the position of Sr. VP, Chief Legal & Legislative Officer. Doherty joined the SSA in January, 2018. Since then he has successfully worked to represent and protect the self storage industry, while also providing strategic and legal support to the organization. He is a graduate of Emory University and Villanova Law School, having previously held positions with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers Association of America, as well as other roles within the private sector.
Long-time SSA General Counsel Carlos Kaslow will continue to support the SSA, along with attorney Daniel Bryant, who joins the Association most recently from the law firm of Bassman, Mitchell, Alfano & Leiter, in Washington D.C. Bryant graduated from the American University Law School, having completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech.
“Anyone who has worked with Joe in his time with the SSA appreciates what a valuable asset he has become to the industry and our organization,” said SSA President & CEO Tim Dietz. “The development of this critical area, including the retention of Carlos and the addition of Daniel, is consistent with the growth and demands of our maturing industry.”
